I TIMOTHY 3: 16
And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
MYSTERIOUS LOVE OF MINE
Oh Mystery Man, you loved me so
That to earth you came down
And veiled yourself in robes of flesh
To wear a thorny crown
Oh, mystery so great that God
Would take on the form of man
Imbed yourself in a virgin's womb
To fulfill salvation's plan
On earth my love, you had no form
Or comeliness, they say
Yet all you came in contact with
Followed you in the way
Mysterious savior, lover, lord
Greater love hath no man than this
Than to give your life a ransom
For all men, this your purpose
I, in turn, was nothing, or less
For sin, it had defiled me
In squalor lived, in darkness hid
Never knew that I could be free
Mysterious that one great enough
To speak earth into existence
Yet small enough to inhabit my heart
With patient perseverence
Oh, patient lover that you are
You waited until I knew
That I had nowhere else to go
And I had to turn to you
You opened up your arms of love
And beckoned me inside
Never casting on me blame
Or in anger, did deride
Instead, you gently reminded me
Of what you'd come to do
To wash me in your precious blood
And draw me back to you
Thank you for the mystery
That, for me, you did unfold
That, you, the God of glory
Came as man, to save my soul.
