What a thrill to see my child when she was born

Just one look into those big, brown eyes, and then my heart was torn

With such love and such devotion, it was not just sheer emotion

She was wrapped around my heart, she was my child.

The years have added two more children to our home

They have brought joy and fulfillment, such as I have never known

Every day and every minute, I am glad that they are in it

Motherhood, Jesus you understood , that these children I would carry in my arms

Needed this mother's touch around them, to sustain and to surround them

And you would help me, Lord,  to shelter them from harm.

When a child into your kingdom, Lord, is born

And I see them at the altar, then too, my heart is torn

With your love and Your devotion; Lord, it's not just sheer emotion
