Boxing
Boxes are for corpses,
So don’t let them fence me in
Let me fly on wings of eagles,
Sit where angels have been
As long as breath is in me
And the choice is mine
If they do not try to push me
You know I’ll be just fine
The pressure and control
Has been what’s frightened me
I just have to be unfettered,
Feeling fancy-free
To learn from errors made
Contemplating my mistakes
Will help me find direction
Freedom’s all it takes
So, in choosing I will make it
Make my choices true
For I know now, that, in hindsight
The only choice is you
You, oh Lord are Savior
And have not tried to force
But since it felt so like it
I got on my high horse
And all the while you waited
Till I would settle down
And end up wearing, some day
That shining, golden crown.
