Has your computer ever been infiltrated with so many viruses that it takes you forever to read an entry that is very important to you?  Does it take you so long to plow thru it that you are tempted just to give up, but decide that it is worth reading and continue on?

I was reading an inspirational blog just now and was trying to concentrate on what was being told to me from God's word; yet, I kept having pop ups interfering.  These were all kinds of pop ups with anything and everything that was tantalising to the eye, and of course, all kinds of offers of merchandise that was 'free' to me at just one click of the mouse.

Do I want to check out the dating scene, as there are lonely souls just waiting for me?  Do I want to start a business at  home and become rich practically overnight?  Or how about the sexy figure I have always longed for; just one three months supply of these pills will make me a brand new woman.  You know what I mean...

I have only just realised lately how wonderful it has been to get onto whatever site I wish to go to, without the interference of these viruses that have infiltrated my computer.  And I just came to the conclusion that this is how it is in our walk with Jesus as well.

We are often in communication with Him and the "window" is wide open;  He is teaching us his ways, and telling us of his love and other instruction that he has for us, and we are replying to his 'blogs', as it were, directly, as He is at the top of our contact lists.  However, in the meantime, various pop ups, in the forms of distractions and interference are getting in the way of our being able to concentrate on what He is saying...the phone will ring, we will think of something else that is so pressing that we cannot stay on our knees in prayer for the fifteen minutes that we promised would be our goal for this prayer time.   

Satan will provide anything and everything to infiltrate our minds just to keep us from gaining what we are apt to receive from our meeting with the great teacher himself.  He knows that when we meet with Jesus, we are going to have the joy of the Lord as our strength to make it thru whatever may come our way during a trying day. So thank you Jesus for the lesson you teach us, even in viruses.
